FULL DESCRIPTION: The Aerospace Parts Cleaner is responsible for the precision decontamination and surface preparation of critical flight components. This role requires meticulous adherence to technical specifications and chemical handling protocols to ensure all parts meet rigorous aerospace quality standards before moving to the next stage of production or assembly.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Precision Cleaning & Decontamination
- Execute multi-stage cleaning processes (ultrasonic, vapor degreasing, or solvent cleaning) according to specific work instructions and blueprints.
- Remove contaminants such as oils, metal chips, and oxidation while ensuring zero damage to delicate part geometries or finishes.
- Perform visual and instrument-aided inspections to verify that parts meet "Clean Room" or customer-specific cleanliness requirements.
Process Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain 100% accurate logs of cleaning cycles, chemical concentrations, and processing times to ensure full traceability.
- Follow strict Methodological Discipline in handling parts to prevent "cross-contamination" after the cleaning cycle is complete.
- Audit all paperwork and "travelers" to ensure that the cleaning step is correctly signed off before the part leaves the department.
Chemical & Equipment Management
- Monitor and maintain chemical baths, including testing pH levels and managing filtration systems.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials according to OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment to ensure consistent performance and safety.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- The Integrity Reflex: A fundamental commitment to doing the job right even when no one is looking; understanding that a "shortcut" in cleaning is a safety risk.
- Detail Orientation: The ability to spot minute surface defects or contaminants that others might miss.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Physical Dexterity: Comfort working with small, intricate parts as well as larger components requiring manual handling.
Salary Range: $25.00 to $30.00/hour
